Award-Winning Maldon Carnival Court Ready to Welcome Community to Carnival Week 2026

The Maldon Carnival Court is enjoying an outstanding carnival season, proudly representing the town with elegance, confidence and community spirit at carnivals across Essex and Kent.

Having already attended the Braintree, Lydd, Great Bentley and Witham Carnivals, the Court has been exemplary ambassadors for Maldon. Their warmth, professionalism and dedication have earned praise from organisers, fellow carnival courts and spectators alike, while proudly showcasing everything that makes Maldon such a special community.

Their commitment has also been rewarded with an impressive collection of competition successes, including:

  • 1st Place – Queen of Queens
  • 1st Place – Senior Princess Pairs
  • 2nd Place – Queen’s Float
  • 3rd Place – Queen’s Float
  • 2nd Place – Chaperone of the Day
  • 3rd Place – Chaperone of the Day

These remarkable achievements reflect not only the hard work and dedication of the Court but also the invaluable support provided by their chaperones and the volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes throughout the carnival season.

With excitement building, preparations are now well underway for Maldon Carnival Week, which begins on Monday, 3 August, with the ever-popular Spot the Stranger competition. Running throughout the month until 31 August, the competition is a firm favourite with residents and visitors alike.

Unless otherwise stated, all Carnival Week events will be held at Lower Plume School, Mill Road, Maldon. The only exception is the Car Treasure Hunt, which will start from Morrisons Maldon car park, where participants should register before setting off.
