The Carnival Procession will be held on Saturday 3rd, August 2024. The procession lines up in Cross Road which will be closed to traffic from 11.00am. The Procession starts at 2.15pm from the junction of Fambridge Road and Cross Road.
The procession route is Fambridge Road, High Street and Mill Road. These roads will be closed from 2:15pm until about 4:00pm.

Anyone can take part in the procession from children to adults, fancy dress to floats there is a category for everyone. it’s a fun and exciting experience for everyone and a memory you will treasure forever.
Maldon Carnival currently has eight categories(classes) which you can enter:
- Children’s Fancy Dress (Pedestrian under 16)
- Adult Fancy Dress (Pedestrian)
- Most Imaginative Group Entry (Floats)
- Most Imaginative Group Entry (Walkers)
- Most Enthusiastic
- Bands
- Business and Industry
We have a further 2 classes which unfortunately due to high demand and limited space are by invitation only.
- Majorettes
- Visiting Courts
There is no charge to enter the procession and unfortunately, due to lack of funds, we will not be able to pay any appearance fee. All persons or groups wishing to be part of the procession can download a form.
Spectators
One of the main objectives of Maldon Carnival is to provide a procession that is fun, exciting, and enjoyable for everyone. An unbelievable amount of work from a team of volunteers goes into organizing the Carnival each year, nothing makes us happier than seeing smiling faces on the streets of Maldon. Now is a really good time to put the 3rd August 2024 in your diary/phone.
The procession starts at 2:15pm and ends at approximately at 3:30pm, Queens, Majorettes and walkers will disperse in the Lower Plume school, floats, and larger vehicles will continue to Cross Road to disperse.
